Nganawi nag tji no ri.”

– “I am a Ngarrindjeri man.
My totem is pelican.”
– Josh Trevorrow

Documentary filmmaker

Josh Trevorrow is a proud Ngarrindjeri man. His father was a survivor of the stolen generation. He has a profoundly personal calling to storytelling. His mandate is to champion First Nations talent.

After working in another sector for many years, in 2019 Josh began upskilling in the screen industry. Intensive course-work at AFTRS was followed by an attachment on studio feature film MORTAL KOMBAT. He participated in two South Australian Film Corporation/Screen NT/Centralised initiatives in Alice Springs and Adelaide.

In 2021 Josh was named Screen Australia, Centralised and Documentary Australia Foundation Fellow for his documentary project, KONDOLI. He produced and co-directed the short documentary KEEP YARNING STRONG with Shante Barnes-Cowan (‘Firebite’, WRYMWOOD: APOCALYPSE, SWEET AS).

He participated in the most recent Adelaide Film Festival and South Australian Film Corporation’s Film Lab: New Voices initiative, as a producer.

Josh has also worked as a short film programmer, including for the Art Gallery of South Australia and for Country Arts SA/Nunga Screen. Josh currently works as the First Nations Arts and Culture Manager for Country Arts SA, a role in which he produces a short documentary with a First Nations filmmaker, as a part of the Nunga Screen initiative.

He has a slate of scripted and non-scripted projects in development, for Untold Productions.

BW KMCPHEE
– Katharine E. McPhee
Co-director
Screenwriter
Creative producer

Katharine E. McPhee grew up trying to avoid sunburn and emulate Nora Ephron, via her Sony Handycam. She graduated from Flinders University with Honors in Screen (Film) Studies.

Katharine is a recipient of the Colin Thiele New Writing Scholarship and has been both long-listed and short-listed for the John Hinde award.

She has several feature film and television projects set up with veteran producers, with several presently in pre-production. She is co-writer of LOVE IS IN THE AIR – a Netflix and Jaggi Entertainment production starring Delta Goodrem, Joshua Sasse, Steph Tisdell and Roy Billing. LOVE IS IN THE AIR reached the number one film position globally on Netflix upon its release, and remained in the Global Top 10 for two weeks.

Katharine has worked in writers’ rooms for various Australian production companies and actively works as a script editor.

She has also been a finalist in several national and international initiatives. She has been supported within South Australian Film Corporation mentoring programs, including with Universal Pictures.

Just like she is both a dog and a cat person, Katharine traverses various genres as a writer. But linking threads include female-centricity and underestimated people rising above adversity.

Katharine is a member of Australians in Film, Australian Writers’ Guild, SPA and the AACTA. She is an Australian Writers’ Guild Pathways Showcase Writer. She is represented by 3 Arts Entertainment, Los Angeles.

We acknowledge the Ngarrindjeri and Ramindjeri People as the traditional custodians of the areas where we work and live, as well as the Kaurna People of the Adelaide Plains area where we also create. We respect their spiritual relationships with Country and extend that respect to First Nations People, Australia-wide.
